...THE MERCIFUL APRIL...

The memorable week has just come to an end. Last week I had been to Lucknow, The Nawabi City of India, to attend International Children’s Film Festival at CMS, world’s largest school. Festival started on 6th of this month but we, Tushar, Kush and I joined them from 9th. We reached their early in the morning when almost nobody was there. After an hour people started coming over there. And we got our room after two hours. The school and the campus were too big to capture in a frame of camera. And plenty of posters were there of different short and feature films of children. After dressing up nicely, we went to the auditorium to see the films, the only thing we had to do there. There were five different auditoriums: Main Audi., having the capacity of 2500 human beings (I don’t know about the animals), and Four Mini Auditoriums, having the capacity of 150 human beings (…………………………………….).

We started watching different films from the very moment. We were running from one Audi. to other Audi. to don’t miss the films. From all the parts of the world the films were submitted. Ours was also there in one them. So many animation films and live action films were shown there. If I start talking about all those films now, it would take much of a time at present. But some unforgettable films like: Jacco’s Film, The Magic Tree, Lost and Found, Time to Love, Ali and the Ball, Lapandav, Vitthal, Vartul, Ice Cream, etc. having unusual subjects in them, yet create a long lasting effect on your mind that you never forget those films. All these films had totally uncommon yet common topic in the films. These films were having quality in them with the X-factor in them, which could attract a five years old child and the delegates of 20 to 80 years old. The stories, the cast, technical aspects, theme line, hard work, of these films were simply marvelous. A five minute film was also there. And its topic was the fear of a child, who is afraid of darkness (which is I think we all have faced when we were children), and how he loses the faith in God at the end. And it was shown in just five minutes. “Hats off to the Director of the film.” All these films I have mentioned have their own peculiarity, which make them must watch. None of these films were either in Hindi or in English. Though we were having subtitles along with the screening, it was nice to see all these films in their languages only. Sometimes language creates no bar in communication, though we don’t know the language.

Here I would like to mention one more film “The Way of the Future” this is the film because of which I got the chance to go there, attend the festival and meet the people, who have creative mind. This is our film. Written, directed and produced by Tushar Sonar (I’ve mentioned the name earlier). It was selected in world cinema section there. The film got a very nice response there. The audience enjoyed the film and got the response at the exact points Tushar, Kush (The Assistant Director of the film), and I had thought. It was good see our own film being screened where other films of the world were also being screened. It was a good experience to be there. I learnt a lot from there being silent and observing the films. I thank Tushar for the last week; it was indeed a memorable week.
